I had to drive 140km round trip today for work. What a beautiful drive. Sun was shining, lovely music playing in my car. Totally stress free........ a far cry from driving in the city

Country Life Is Tough On Shoes
Since moving here I have had to throw out 6 pairs of shoes. I have a wardrobe full of heels that I never get to wear. Life here is pretty hard on the feet. So much mud in winter and rough terrain. After a snake slid past my feet whilst gardening, I now wear only wellies in the garden. Am now on my second pair. Out with the old and in with the new.

Our House Name
Yay, so excited. I ordered our house name 'Misty Ridge' from Signartist.com.au It arrived within a week of ordering it. What fantastic service. (Having to wait for hubby to hang it was another story) We just love it.

Easter Lily
Our block is one that has been subdivided from a 150 year old property, The Mount. I just love at the end of March when these little spikes pop their heads through the ground and blossom into a patch of vibrant pink lilies. Originating from South Africa they are very common around towns established in the mid 1800's. Perhaps the first settlers brought the bulbs out with them.

Amish Potato Bag
My daughter arrived back from her trip to the USA. I am so intrigued with the Amish and was very envious that she was going to Pennsylvania to visit. I asked her to bring me a little something back from there. She brought me this Microwave Potato Bag (very interesting that the Amish make these, but don't have electricity for microwaves) It is amazing. It makes the most fluffy soft potatoes I have ever done in the microwave. Might get out the machine and make some for gifts.

Modern technology?
It has taken five weeks to try to arrange the internet and telephone! Ridiculous. I know that we are in the Country, but really??
At last it was all sorted, connected and apparently ready to go. Until we tried to connect. It appears York doesn't have the facility for ADSL 2 only ADSL 1.
It is as bad as dial up. We can't download and browse the web at the same time as it is so incredibly slow.

Weeds
Since moving in and a little bit of rain, the weeds have taken over. I'm sure that if we don't get a grip they are going to creep in and strangle us in our sleep. I ventured in and sprayed, but without much effect. It calls for serious action. Hans went out and purchased a Stihl Whipper Snipper. He is like a man possessed.
